Reference price – limited data: CHF 100Limited data
RangeCHF 70 to CHF 140How HoloFoilX shows a value based on few data points: rounded, with range and data quality.

From photo to portfolio

Every step shows what it knows and what it doesn't. You decide what goes into your collection.

  1. Capture

Photograph the card or upload a photo. The edges are detected and the image is straightened.

  2. Identify

Name and number are matched against the catalog. You confirm the match.

  3. Value

An estimate with range and data quality. If the data isn't enough, no number is shown.

  4. Pre-check

Measure the centering and work out whether grading pays off after all costs.

  5. Track

Purchase price, value and sales per card, set and game, in your currency.

An asking price is not a value

Many apps show the cheapest listing or a single provider's number without saying how solid it is. We weigh the available data and show, with every value, how reliable the estimate is.

No licensed source of completed sales is connected yet. Values therefore rest on market indices from freely available sources and are marked as reference prices with limited data.

How the evidence is weighted
  • Completed sales

What buyers actually paid, weighted by how recent the sale is. Outliers are filtered out.

    Highest weight
  • Market indices

Average and guide prices published by marketplaces and data providers. They often mix sales and asking prices, so they count for less than direct sales.

    Supplementary
  • Current listings

Asking prices show what is available right now. If there are only listings, the result is at most a reference price with limited data.

    Only without other data

Every value states its data quality

Four levels, always right next to the number. If the data is not enough, we show no value.

  • High data quality

Many recent, consistent sales from several sources.

  • Medium data quality

Enough market data for a reliable estimate, with some uncertainty.

  • Limited data

Few or older data points, often a single source. The value is an indicative reference price, not a market value.

  • Not enough market data

Not enough market data for a meaningful value.

From photo to collection

The scanner suggests matching cards. You check the match and decide what goes into your collection.

  1. 1.Take a photo

The camera detects the card edges and straightens the photo. You can also upload an existing photo.

  2. 2.Check the match

Name and number are read and matched against the catalog. Every suggestion shows how certain it is; if several cards match, you choose.

  3. 3.File it

Add it to your collection with condition and purchase price. Without a camera, you can find every card in the catalog too.

The scanner is experimental and is still often wrong. So check every suggestion and, if needed, pick an alternative or search the catalog; glare, sleeves and top-loaders make recognition harder.

Grade only when it pays off

The pre-grading check measures centering on your photo. When image analysis is active, it also estimates visible wear on corners, edges and surface. The ROI calculator then compares selling raw with every grade scenario, after fees, shipping and import costs. Where market prices for graded cards are missing, you enter them yourself.

We are not a grading company. Estimates are not official PSA, BGS or CGC grades.

Centering on your photo: border width left to right and top to bottom. Example values.

Example: raw value CHF 100, PSA 9 CHF 140, PSA 10 CHF 350, grading and shipping CHF 45.
